Martha looked around nervously at the people at
the mall. What if anyone understood what she was about to do? What if
someone would stop her? Her small frame would have no chance.
During he whole life, up to the young mousy woman she was today, she had been afraid. It was like it was coded into her, anything could make her worried. She thought she was holding the solution in her hand, an amulet she had found in a spooky store. Martha shuddered at the thought of what could have happened to her in there, all alone with the shopkeeper.
She was tired of always being afraid. Over and over she had tried gathering courage and vist places but her bravado quickly crumbled when her mind began to tell her all the things that could go wrong.
This had to end!
It was bad enough being at the mall with all of the unknown persons around her but she had no other choice. It was safer than meeting a person all alone. She held her amulet tight in her small hand and scanned the crowd for the right person.
Person after person walked past her but none of them felt right. It had to be someone that looked safe.
Then she saw him.
A military man was walking towards her. He looked so confident in himself that Martha became jelous. He was big and muscular. And as a soldier she guessed he was brave too.
She gathered the tiny bit of courage she had and approached him.
"Sir! I need your help! Please come!"
The man in the uniform looked suprised at first but he was proud serving so he didn't deny her request and came with her to a somewhat secluded area.
Martha gulped. The man was just behind her and she fiddled with the amulet with her fingers.
She hesitated.
Doubt began to take her.
No!
Not now!
Martha spun around and pressed the amulet against the soldiers chest before he could start asking questions.
Rays of light enveloped them both and their auras began to merge.
The last thing Martha noticed in her life was that she had held the amulet the wrong way.
"What the fuck happened?", Sgt Tanner asked himself and steadied himself against the wall.
He looked around the room for signs of the girl. "Miss?"
A softer and much higher voice escaped his lips. He tried to clear his throat but it didn't work. Instead he brushed against his now larger chest when feeling his throat with his hands.
"What the.....?"
His body not only felt wrong in all places, it looked wrong too.
His chest protruded outwards ominously with two large bumps.
It didn't take long for him to understand that he had been changed into a woman.
Sgt Tanner examined his body. It was not as buff as it had been, but it wasn´t bad.
It struck him that he probably should adress himself as "herself" in the light of current events.
She explored the options in her mind. She could probably disappear if she wanted to but her honor forbade that. She had a duty to her country after all.
Then there was only one option left. Try to convince her lieutenant of who she really was.
That would be awkward to say the least but she had overcome bigger obstacles than that in past times.
