Fun at the fair

 Fun at the fair

Michael felt frustration, anger and panic well up inside of him. He had been given one task from their mother, take care of his younger brother Sammy at the fair.

It had started of well with Michael telling Sammy that if he behaved he would be lenient with him and do stuff that he wanted. Not all, but most of it. So far so good.

Sammy had been eating cotton candy, going for a ride on the carousel and even visited the gypsy who gifted him with an "magical rock" in her very lavishly decorated tent.

But now he had had an fit and run away from him, that little brat. Just because he didn't get a candy bar. "Life isn't fair, little brother", he thought to himself and gritted his teeth.

He had seen the direction Sammy went off in and asked a couple of visitors if they had seen his brother, a little kid of eight with blonde hair and a red t-shirt. He thanked the people that pointed him in the right direction.

One of the last people he had asked said that they saw a kid fitting the description running into the pottery exhibition. He was closing in.

Michael searched the area but found nothing. He sighed despondently.

"Are you looking for a blonde kid?

Michael turned around and saw that it was one of the potters, a girl, that had spoken to him.

"Uhm yeah. How did you know?"

She giggled.

"You looked like you lost someone", she said.

"I have. My little brat of a brother ran away and now I can't find him", Michael grumbled.

"He might be closer than you think", she said and winked. Then she added: "bro"

Michael was speechless. He could see it in her features somehow, the mischevious smile of his brother. "Sammy?", he stammered.

"This was fun!", the girl, Sammy, his brother, exclaimed. "Best hide and seek ever!"

"H-How?"

"I ran into her with my gypsy stone. Then I was her. Her name is Linda and look; I can do pottery now!". Sammy-in-Linda clearly had profiency making objects out of clay.

Michael shuddered at the thought if Sammy had kept up the charade he would never had found him.

"Sammy, come on. You must leave her. I can buy you a candy bar if you do. We can even go take a ride in the bumper cars"

His little brother in his female body stopped what he was doing and seemed to ponder something. "You know what? I'm a big girl now. I can ride all the rides if I want to!"

Michael groaned. Even as another person his little brother was insufferable.

"Come on!", Sammy said and grabbed Michaels hand with his own slender fingers.

Michael figured that to an outsider it would look like a couple heading towards the rollercoaster.
Michael groaned again. He just couldn't let go of his little brother once more.
