The Great Shift affected many people and those had to come to terms with their new bodies.
Scarlett, formerly Henry, was still coming to terms with his new body and took small steps every day to acclimatize himself in his new body. Giving himself a new female name was just a part of it.
Forcing himself to put on risque female clothing instead of the usual baggy pants and sweatshirt was another part of it.
Someday it would feel more natural to wear these clothes and using his new name, but until then he had to continue practice his newly aquired femininity in his bedroom.
